Ño Juan Carlos is a “triste” (English: “sad”), taking after a traditional Argentine folk song form. It was dedicated to Juan Carlos Anido, the father of renowned guitarist María Luisa Anido. Ño Juan Carlos is a tribute to a figure who was deeply connected to the Argentine guitar world, as Anido’s daughter would go on to become one of Argentina's most important guitarists.

Justo Tomás Morales (1877-1953) was a pivotal figure in the evolution of Argentine classical guitar in the early 20th century. Born in Buenos Aires province, he refined his guitar technique under distinguished teachers such as Eusebio de Miguel and Domingo Prat. Morales garnered widespread acclaim for his performances at renowned Buenos Aires venues like the Teatro Apolo. As a respected teacher, he held a prestigious post at Colegio El Salvador, mentoring numerous students, including virtuosos like María Herminia Antola. His compositions, which masterfully blend classical forms with Argentine folk traditions, often featured lyrics by poets such as Eugenio Cárdenas and Ramón Solveyra Césares. Morales' work played a significant role in the Argentine Traditionalist Movement, bridging classical guitar with the rich musical heritage of the Buenos Aires region.
