Florian Colombet
Florian Colombet is a guitarist, composer, and arranger with a wide range of musical interests. Navigating between Western classical music, jazz, and popular music, he brings together various musical languages in a unique and syncretic musical discourse. He founded the jazz trio Co&Co with Simon Corneille (saxophone) and Matheo Ciesla (drums), the Boli quartet (Gnawa music) with which he recorded the album "Roots" in 2023, and the classical guitar trio Lumen. He also plays and improvises solo, mixing the music genres he frequents: modern jazz, baroque music, classical music, West African music. He won first prizes in the Drôme de Guitares composition competition in 2019 and the Eurostrings composition competition in 2021. His piece After Mehldau is published by Habanera Editions. He has begun a collaboration as artistic director with two classical guitar duos: Daniyah Guitar Duo and Bluvenduo.
Colombet studied classical guitar at the Nantes Conservatory with Michel Grizard, where he also practiced jazz and percussion, and at Pont Supérieur d'Enseignement de Rennes, where he obtained his bachelor's degree in performance in the class of Roberto Aussel and Hervé Merlin. In 2016 and 2018, he obtained a master's degree in performance in the class of Dusan Bogdanovic and a master's degree in music education in Geneva. He has taken lessons from several prominent figures in classical music such as Judicaël Perroy and Pablo Marquez and in jazz, such as Médéric Collignon and Romain Pilon.
