Allegro draws inspiration from Allegro BWV 998 by J.S. Bach, both structurally and in its creation of a self-accompanied melody. The score is edited with the idea of leaving great freedom to the performer to extract the different voices they wish to emphasize, with few performance indications, as was customary in the Baroque era. Certain melodic cells and cadences directly reference Bach's work, while being mixed with more modern sounds, inspired by jazz.
