Three short works drawn from different corners of musical tradition. Sentimental Waltz is a wistful, quietly relaxed piece with unexpected pauses and silences that evoke a dreamlike atmosphere. Game of Fourths explores the interval of fourths, creating a fresh, sometimes austere sound with a playful dialogue between the main tune and its interjections. V'la bon vent draws on Canada's folk legacy, presenting the ancient tune alongside a second voice that travels with it rather than harmonising it in the conventional sense.
