Our Story
MusiCurate was founded by Ben Lahring in 2023 as an online music school with the vision of making music fun, easy, and accessible. This vision led to restructuring as a publishing company in 2024, partnering with composers and performers while continuing to nurture music education through accessible high-quality resources for students and teachers.
Your success is our success.
MusiCurate serves composers by offering fair and competitive publishing agreements. We serve students, teachers, and performers by assigning numbered and colour-coded levels to our music publications, making it easy for musicians of all abilities to find music worth learning.
Curating old and new music of all styles, we prioritize story-driven relatability while making magical music accessible for all stages.
We curate so you can create!
Level-based Learning
Level-based learning is an educational approach where learners progress through increasingly complex levels as they master each stage, similar to video games. It personalizes the experience by adapting the difficulty to the learner's abilities and emphasizes mastery before moving on. This method makes learning fun and accessible, keeping learners engaged and motivated as they advance through levels.
At MusiCurate, each level includes pieces of different complexities within a defined difficulty range. Some pieces will be more challenging than others, according to individual strengths and preferences, but each piece within a level will be appropriate for learners at that level.
MusiCurate is not an examination authority. See the chart below for approximate equivalencies to use MusiCurate as a supplemental resource in your graded examinations.
