Practical guide

A setlist is more than a list of titles. It is the order you intend to play, with the right scores and parts ready to open. Use this guide to check the musical and practical details before you step on stage.

1. Choose your program

Write down every work, movement and encore. For an ensemble, confirm which part each player needs. Include any spoken introductions or instrument changes in your running order.

2. Gather the scores

In Perform, create a setlist. Use Add a piece to choose a MusiCurate score or one of your uploads. You can import a PDF or MusicXML file. Check that the edition and part are the ones you rehearsed.

3. Put everything in order

Build the setlist in performance sequence. Give it a useful name and include the date if you perform similar programs often. Walk through the transitions as well as the pieces.

4. Mark the important places

Add a cue note to a setlist piece, and mark the score in the reader where needed. Keep entrances, cuts and page-turn reminders clear. Practice the page turns with the same pedal and display you plan to use.

5. Rehearse the setup

  • Open every score from the setlist.
  • Check battery, screen brightness and the stand angle.
  • Review Performance readiness. Download eligible catalogue scores for offline use, then verify each one opens before the show.
  • Keep a backup of the music you cannot afford to lose.
